Track Specifics
The AFM configuration for Infineon is about 2.3 miles long, in a clockwise direction. For a full-page map of the AFM configuration, visit the
Forms section or click here to open the PDF.
The track itself includes a multi-configurable ~2.51 mile roadcourse and 1/4 mile drag strip. The roadcourse
follows the terrain to give numerous elevation changes and "blind turns". The steepest portions of the track
are at a 15% grade and numerous pedestrian bridges cross the track to allow spectators to easily access all
turns. The roadcourse has only two straight sections of any length, giving few places for riders to relax.
There are numerous new additions at Infineon, including a complete go-cart track, many new grand stands on
the hillsides, a tunnel to cross under the track, and a huge grandstand tower by Turn 1 where almost the
whole course can be viewed by spectators.
Infineon Paddock Layout
The AFM race weekends generally utilize a paddock layout like the one below. Click the Infineon logo above
to access more track maps and detailed track information.
Early Descriptions of the Track
We have two descriptive articles on the "prior incarnation" of the track written by racers. See the Racers Perspective page for "Sears Point from Two Views" which gives both a rider's and spectator's perspective of the various turns, along with some tips on good viewing locations.
Local Accommodations and Resources
There are many motels to choose from in Novato, Petaluma, Vallejo, Sonoma, as well as a number of restaurants, grocery stores, parts stores, and malls. Petaluma, Vallejo and San Rafael probably have the closest motorcycle shops. Other points of interest in the area are numerous wineries - as Infineon is near the heart of California Wine Country.
Visit the Infineon Travel Page on Infineon's website for links to hotels, wineries, restaurants and other area resources and attractions.
