About The AFM
The AFM (American Federation of Motorcyclists) is a non-profit California corporation that was founded in 1954 by a group of sport riding enthusiasts in the North Bay Area. It is the oldest racing organization in the country dedicated soley to motorcycle road racing.
Northern California has one of the largest populations of sport riders in the country. Many of those sport riders find their way from the areas mountain and canyon roads to the AFM and the race track. Many of them, after a season or two on the track, cut back or quit street racing when the relative safety of pushing their limits on the track becomes clear.
The AFM welcomes spectators and racers alike, and we try to provide the best show possible with the safest and most responsible crew you are likely to find. We are a volunteer organization and are always looking for interested people to join in the fun.

AFM Race Report - Round 1, 2022
The weekend was a bit tricky, what with the weather at Buttonwillow Raceway Park going from perfect, to sandstorm, and ultimately enough rain fell to cancel qualifying for the Formula classes and postpone Saturday's races to Sunday morning.
With 17 races to put on, Race Control made the decision to shorten most races from six laps to five, with Formula Pacific being reduced to 10 laps from the scheduled 12. While there may have been fewer laps, there was no shortage of action once the track went green on Sunday.
In the Formula 40 Heavyweight race, originally scheduled as race three on Saturday for example, Eric "GoGo" Gulbransen got off to a large lead over the entire field on his KTM 1290 Superduke R, but thanks to setting the fastest lap of the race on his Kawasaki ZX-10R, Tyler Wolters reeled him in. When the checkered came out, Wolters lost the race to the line by just 0.034 seconds giving Gulbransen the win from pole position.
In the Premier Formula Pacific class sponsored by Oculus Financial Group, Ezra Beaubier grabbed the holeshot on his BMW S1000RR and stretched out a two second lead over the rest of the field. Due to the weather canceling qualifying Bryce Prince started the race at the back of the grid, but he quickly made his way through the pack and worked his way up to fourth at the end of the first lap. With three laps left Prince made a move for the lead and stayed there to grab the victory leaving Beaubier to settle for second place. In the battle for third, Brenden Ketelsen's Kawasaki ZX6R lost the horsepower battle to the Kawasaki ZX10 piloted by Andrew Lee who broke away for a lonely third place finish.
